The photos in this section tell the story of the holy grail of bass fishing in Southern Africa. The biggest and most fiercely contested bass angling competition in the Southern Hemisphere. The best bass anglers from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Swaziland and Namibia bring their best equipment to come and do battle over 5 intense days to determine who deserves the crown as Region 5 Champions.

Since the inception of the tournament (previously known as the Zone 6 Bass Angling Championships), the event has been a prestigious affair. The event promotes the most fantastic camaraderie between all the teams and the friends you make become friends for life.

The adrenaline pumping through your veins in the mornings after launching is indescribable. Lining up to fly out the gates to your chosen starting spot for the day in just beyond amazing. Make sure everything is tied down, make sure your engine is trimmed down, make sure your map on your finder is working, down goes the flag, foot down and hustle.

To add to all of the above, one gets to visit parts of our neighbours countries which one normally wouldn’t travel through. The magnificent African bushveld beauty is accentuated by the venues that one gets to visit. There’s nothing better than a whole bunch of awesome bass boats in and around bushveld awesomeness. Pure bliss!!!!

I hope that the photos and the message above encourages all anglers to reach a level of excellence in order to be awarded with national colours. Fishing for your country is not only the ultimate honour but also an amazing and unforgettable experience.
